i.imgur.com/gJavQ.png LONELY PEOPLE DO BAD THINGS. The only good thing about having an unrequited crush on his sister's rival, Zahir has discovered, is that she's his sister's rival. This means Sophia is generally as involved around school as Thalia is, even moreso in some areas. Thalia tutors her friends, if they need it, but participating in two sports means that she can't really extend the same offer to strangers. Sophia, on the other hand, will help someone she doesn't know out, as long as they ask politely. And Zahir was on his best behavior for the entire time (2 minutes, 47 seconds) it took to arrange a tutoring session on Calculus II with one Sophia Rosenburg. He's actually on the brink of failing the class this quarter, although not from any lack of ability. Maths are simply the hardest classes to attend. They rouse Ishamael's mutterings in the back of his head to a full-fledged roar, and if he stays too long, gripping the desk white-knuckled he'll drift--drift--he won't come back-- Zahir isn't even sure if he wants to come back, some days. So most of the time he skips out on Calculus II to smoke in the bleachers while Thalia runs laps around the football field. But today there has been no smoking. His collared shirt is neatly ironed, courtesy of Thalia's unwillingness to let him show up in wrinkled clothing, although she doesn't approve, and his book is laid out in front of him, along with a sheaf of papers for note-taking. Zahir is here to ace this exam. sophia + stefan rosenburgLAIKA OF GS!

i.imgur.com/he6j3.jpg [attr="class","stt"] the main reason that sophia was able to accomodate his request at all is because most people don't ask politely. most people are too unnverved by her to ask at all, assuming that she's dying in advanced chemistry like everyone else. (she's not dying in advanced chemistry, but she is dying in other ways) the second reason was a bit of an accident. in all honesty, she had almost sent stefan. she had recieved the request through official student government channels, and sophia is the pragmatic sort of girl who figures that nobody actually cared about who was teaching them as long as the job was done. she had approved the request electronically at four in the morning before waking up the next day and realizing what a bad idea it was. stefan was not incompetent in any sense of the word, but he was also the sort of person who would probably spend half of their time not understanding why the other person didn't understand what he considered to be obvious truths. she decides to cancel her violin lesson instead, since that was something that she could actually find a substitute for. sophia had berated herself earlier for such poor planning, but she didn't ultimately mind. she shows up with a black binder in hand and a demeanor that suggests that she had intended to be here all along. sophia does not consider selective silence to be lying. she's even stopped by the calculus teacher's classroom to grab a copy of the exam review. she doubts that thalia's brother will suspect a thing. (which was another oddity in all of this -- where is thalia brand when her brother is in need of academic help? sophia is not sure how to feel about this, but exams have never stopped for anyone's doubts.) "i hope that you didn't wait long." she doesn't actually expect him to have arrived that much earlier than she did, but sophia has found that dealing with people is easier when they aren't expecting an ice queen. she sets her violin case on an empty desk nearby and sits up straight at the table. "do you have specific questions, or would you rather go through the entire review?"YOU COULD BE HAPPY LAIKA OF GS!
